Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

First thing I thought after I finished this was "what a great book". But I warn you, this story is not to be taken lightly. This is not a "beach read" or some sappy chick love story, and its definitely not a bunch of high school school drama. This story is no joke, yet it taught me so much about what love actually is. And its not easy.

Ruby McQueen is the quite girl, but the great thing about summers is that you can be anyone you want to be. And Travis, badass of Nine Mile Falls, makes her feel different... maybe she can be that daring girl he thinks she is. But Ruby finds herself in risky situations. She needs to give up Travis but she can't seem to let go. To take her mind off things her mother Ann starts to bring her to her weekly book club with the senior citizens. When reading a love story a secret is revealed that takes the older folks, her mom and brother and her, on a road trip to remember.

The Short Second Life of Bree Taner

BIG NEWS. And when I say big, I mean BIG. Stephanie Meyer is coming out with a short story called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner on June 5th! No! I am NOT joking.  Bree Tanner if you don't remember is one of the "Newborn Vampires" of Victoria's Army in the third book Eclipse. She was the one who Dr. Cullen tried to save and bring to the Cullen family but was then killed by the Volturi. If you want to read more about this go to http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/bio.html or http://www.breetanner.com/ or http://team-twilight.com/20100330/mtv-bree-tanner-cheat-sheet/. The news was just released yesterday, so you're getting as before anyone knows:) Also! Stephanie Meyer (the giving person that she is) will give a free download of it on her website for a whole month after the book is released! I'm supererdi-duperdi pumped! WOOHOO

The Lonely Hearts Club

The Lonely Hearts Club is a fun and quick little read that's great for the beach. This is a story about girls who decided to change the ways of love and swear it off completely for the rest of high school. Boys make you act stupid, love sick, they make you forget about your friends the people who care about you most, and then when you least expect it, they throw you out like a half eaten burger. Penny Lane has been heartbroken one time too many, and shes done with the heart ache. Joined by her best friend she creates a club that values chicks over... you know the deal. But then, there's a guy. Liking him threatens to destroy the club and all they have worked for, worse... it could destroy her heart.
"I love books. I like that

moment when you open one

and sink into it. You can

escape from the world,

into a story that's way

more interesting then yours

will ever be."

- Elizabeth Scott(Bloom)
"Be yourself; everybody

else is already taken"

- Oscar Wilde
"You know you're in love

when you can't fall asleep

because reality is finally

better than your dreams"

The Cove, please help now

Okayy...... so I know this has nothing to do with books but I think it is something that all of us should know about. The Cove is a documentary about dophin slaughter in Taiji, Japan. This won best documentary at the Oscars and was an inspirational story (even Hayden Panettiere took part in exposing the Japanese fishermen). I absolutely recommend it, and if you do not have the time to watch the movie please help by signing the petition that will be send to President Obama and Vice President Biden. It will only take a few minutes of your time, trust me its worth it... otherwise I wouldn't be up at 1:30 am posting this. Thank you guys for your support:)

Two Way Street

Two Way Street is exciting, fast and grabs your attention. Once you pick this book up you better cancel your plans for the night because you are going to want to read all. night. long.

Courtney and Jordan are headed on a road trip, only problem is that the recently broke up. Jordan dumped her for some myspace girl and Courtney is heart broken, but she will not give him the satisfaction of knowing that. Throughout the book we see glimpses of the present and the past. We also hear the story from both Jordan and Courtney's point of view. But beware, everything is not as simple as it seems, turns out that somebody has been keeping secrets.

The Last Song

Sorry I haven't posted any books in a while. I've been busy spending all my free time reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. This book is as real as it gets, there is no fairy tale ending, no lies about love, sincere and heartfelt life is unfair. If your hoping for chick flick type of book this isn't it.

The Last Song is about a misunderstood seventeen year old New Yorker Ronnie. Shes been in trouble and hasn't always made the right choices, nobody seems to understand her. He parents split up three years ago and she has not talked to her father since. When her mom ships her off to stay with him by the beach for the summer she is anything but happy. Then she finds Will. He's not the type of boy who she sees herself with, but he understands her. The Last Song is summer full of love, a summer full of lies, a summer of surprises, happiness and disappointment but most of all its a summer of change. Throughout the summer Ronnie learns about herself and who she wants to be, she grows in ways she never thought she would. Nicholas Spark is a beautiful writer and knows how to weave your emotions into the feelings of each character. Your heart will break and rip and tear into shreds and you will suffer as though the pain was specifically inflicted on you. This is really a story you won't want to forget.
